Taking a Love Bath

Image
(Today's Blog is dedicated to my cousin & Soul friend Michael C.) I knew I would like her the minute she walked into the waiting room.  Her black cowboy boots with hot pink angel wings and sparkles made me smile.  "Thank you" I silently whispered to God.   It was a simple message, in Soul words- "She will understand you". It's been over 6 years since I've been to the doctor. Yes, I know some of you women are gasping at the lack of yearly physicals, etc.  but..... that's my choice.  I'm a nature girl all the way.  I have no need for a pap, or breast exam- no matter what the fear of the world is around me.  Why?  Because if cancer where to enter my world- I would simply keep living the loving nourishing way I have been for the last six weeks, and if that didn't do the trick.... I'd allow myself to move onto the next adventure in the next world.  Death has NO fear for me.  I trust it's timing, no matter what. So...

Rebirth...... and tidal waves of Grief.

Image
It's been a hell of a hard month.... not everyday, but the days that are difficult are so hard they bleed into the few days after.  Ever have days like that? I am going through a rebirthing process.  Birth is NEVER easy, it is challenging for the mother and for the new child being born.  As a nurse in Mom/baby I watched more births than I can count, and every one left me in tears with the beauty and miracle of the experience...... every single one.  It wouldn't matter if I walked in right before the delivery or spent hours with the mother to be- it was deeply emotionally touching to witness.  And, it had me in tears every time. Right now I am rebirthing myself.  And I am also witnessing the birth.  So I am mother, child and midwife- and it is exhausting. My contractions are waves huge waves of grief that come unexpectedly, without provocation or cause.  When the first one hit me a few weeks ago, I thought "Holy shit this sucks!".  But...

And the journey of healing myself begins......

Image
The road of healing is not an easy one..... the road to illness, well now that's been a long waterslide for me- easy, slippery and downhill fun all the way.  When I hit that pool at the bottom, which I did three months ago, I realized how high that climb back up to the top was going to be. The last 10 years have been so hard on my body- let me rephrase that, I have been so hard on my body.  After so many years of overworking myself, over-giving and only minimally addressing my basic physical needs- I finally hit bottom.  My body gave up. I thought all was well until about three months ago I crashed physically.  I could barely sleep more than a few hours at a time without waking up with nightmares and anxiety.  My heart would be racing and my stomach growling.  My blood sugar was crashing and signaling my adrenals to wake me up quickly so that I would wake up the next day.  My adrenals were on their last limb and I was feeling it in every way....

Why the hell am I here? Life Purpose 101

Image
So several questions came in last week related to life purpose..... everyone wonders at some point in their life, why am I here?  Do I have any gifts? And what the heck am I supposed to do with them? Valid and powerful questions to explore..... So I went to the crew this morning and presented some of your questions about PURPOSE to see what lovely guidance they had to offer. Me: I have heard a lot of questions come in about WHY are we here? I have my own feelings on that,  but I'd like to hear what you all have to say about it. Ann: A simple way to explain it is that each of you chooses to come here to create and play and experience YOURSELF within the playground of duality.  Duality does not exist in our realm.  Separation does not exist in our realm.  While we are able to remain unique in our expression of the ONE SOURCE of all life, we still feel, know and understand at all times our connection to each other completely.  There are no pr...

Calling all Rescuers & Need to be Heroes

Image
Yesterday as I sat in my seat as "spiritual counselor", coaching another client on the road of life, I was struck by the urge to shake him and say, "Do you know how f*cking amazing you are? Why do you continue to settle for so much less than you deserve? Get over her and move on!" Doing the work I do as a healer and counselor, I see what I call "switches" inside each and every beautiful Soul, that have been turned off by pain and rejection. Switches that need to be turned back on for that person to be happy and productive in their life. Switches that say, "I am a miracle, I am a gift, I am enough, and I can!" So on this day, I wanted to run through the halls of his heart, flipping switches like a crazy warrior.  Screaming, "Damn them all!  You are amazing and worthy and lovable!" But, I didn't. Instead I sat, listened and reflected back what he needed to hear to flip a switch for himself.  I loved him gently and passive...

Do it Anyways...

I saw this quote on pinterest the other day and felt myself laughing and nodding my head in deep agreement at the same time. How many times do you go to make a decision and allow your partner, friends, parents, etc weigh in on your choice?  While I agree that choices that involve someone directly need to be agreed upon, I think there are far too many cooks in the mental kitchen preparing a meal that only you will have to eat. When your Soul speaks to you- it speaks to YOU directly.  It doesn't say, "Hmm, I'm not sure if that would be best for you, go ask your husband."   It says, "Hey wouldn't it be great to (fill in the blank)? Now let's go make this happen!" What trips us up is that fear filled voice that's focused only on the outside world and it's shitload of opinions.  We can go full stop before we even take one step, just by worrying about the criticism we might encounter. So, let me offer you a truth and a gift today.  YOU ...

Strengthen your Strengths not your Weaknesses

The Fire Starter Sessions Have you heard of this book?  Have you been blessed enough to have even seen Danielle LaPorte on video? Well, I was introduced to her just yesterday by one of my dearest friends and already she has lit a fire in my heart, which I shared with my husband this morning.  We are both on FIRE inside again- for life, for change, for expansion into what could be. "Strengthen your Strengths not your weaknesses" she says.  "Your strengths are the things that strengthen you and your weaknesses are the things that weaken you"...... Those things that make you feel alive, joy, etc.- those are what you want to put your focus and attention on expanding- not on the things that drain you, bore you or feel like a burden. Hmmm, what an awesome concept!  I was taught, like most people I know, to be well-rounded.  To work on your weaknesses and put time, effort and energy into making them stronger skills.  Which, like most people, I never enjo...

Lessons from Spring...

Image
From My Spring Garden 2012 I walked around my yard yesterday, taking deep breaths of the intoxicating smell of earth, grass and my favorite- lilacs.  The green is so incredibly healing to my soul after Wisconsin winters and I cannot wait to get my bare feet on the grass.  As I snapped this picture, I had a thought gently placed into my open mind by my soul.  "Hmm what hard work it must be to break through that ground here every single year." I couldn't help but reflect on my own journey through challenges and the importance of keeping the faith that eventually I'd break through my resistances and rise up to express my dreams.  That phase of inner growth, perseverance and trust is so essential  to success and isn't usually visible to those around us and yet, it's the most important part of the journey- never giving up, pushing forward in the darkness, trusting the light of success to be just ahead. If your a tulip in Wisconsin, just breaking th...

Sheep in Wolf's clothing....

Image
Sheep in Wolf's Clothing I've been doing some deep clearing work on myself lately. I found a new technique for "deep cleaning" the auric field ( The Healing Codes ) and it's bringing up some interesting memories and images for me to explore.  For me it's been a spiritual, emotional and mental detox that then moves through the cellular detox of my body- so I'm feeling like I have a touch of the flu most evenings.  I recognize this as a healing response; a sign that things are getting cleared & It feels great to let it all go. This morning as I was in meditation and letting the images of forgiveness move through me, I heard the voice of my guide speak to me.  I've been working with a new Spirit Guide, since my longtime dear friend and guide Red Eagle introduced and "handed me off" to her. Her name is Anne (Annie to me) and today she presented me with this image/idea to contemplate.   "If you see someone behaving in a wa...

Facing your Inner Hecklers

Image
Waldorf & Statler- The Muppet Show Hecklers Waldorf : These seats are awful.  Statler : Why? Can't you see anything?  Waldorf : That's the problem. I can see everything.  One of the great lessons, I believe, that Jim Henson taught me as a child is to face the hecklers in my life and to recognize they are a natural part of our every day audience. Never are we faced with 100% support by everyone we meet.   There are always going to be those who don't appreciate the performance you are giving the world.  And most likely, they'll let you know about it. And hardly ever do we meet change in our life without some part of us resisting it with nasty or fearful comments- trying to get us to stay right where we are, or to plain ol' just give up and get off the stage. Kermit the Frog, one of my gurus in life, never gave up.  The show must go on! He did however constantly deal with interruptions, complaints and the insecurities and big egos...

Is that a Light at the end of the tunnel?

I love my job.  What's not to love about encouraging others to love themselves, reminding them that God is within them and challenging them to give into their heart's desire? The truth is, in order to get someone to that understanding you have to walk with them through what's holding them back or hurting their heart so deeply they feel they cannot possibly heal.  And this, my friends, is challenging. It's challenging to hear about the loss of a sweet baby, to hear about someone going through a divorce, or someone who just lost their job and their husband in the same week- really challenging. But, I do it anyway.  Why?  Because I know without a doubt, things always get better and our deepest losses can guide us to our greatest joys.  I know because I've walked through my own losses and found God and myself in that pain- sometimes after digging through some knee deep sh*t for so long I was ready to quit.  But that light at the end of the tunnel always,...

A New Year's Thought on 2012

I have been waiting for the year 2012 for more years than I can remember.  This long awaited time of prophecy and world changes has been a motivator for me in many ways. I cannot profess to know (and I think no one truly knows) what this time will bring for our planet and our spiritual consciousness.  But I do know what I long for and what my prayers are filled with- PEACE and the REMEMBERING OF OUR DIVINE NATURE. The fact is, even with all the mayan prophecy hype, the end times stories that fill the internet and many churches across our nation- we cannot know what is to come.  But, we can take advantage of the momentum of change that permeates the consciousness of so many, and use it to our advantage.  We can live BIG and live HAPPY.  We can Give our Full SELF to the world. I have decided to live with the greatest integrity I can this year- to live like I was dying- as the famous country song proclaims.   I will make each day matter. ...

A Love Letter to Myself (& to you)

Image
Oh my dear sweet heart, how I cherish you. Your tender heart is soft with tears and open open open. How I long to hold you close to me and bring you a cup of tea, to wrap you in love blankets and sing you a song of you. The world is busy and full, but you can take your time my dear sweet heart.  You will not be left behind. Oh, how the Universe sings when you sit quiet and listen. The freckles on your face remind me of all the angels who have kissed your cheeks whilst you were sleeping. Rest my sweet heart.  Rest your angel heart & wings. All is well and life holds itself awake for your return.

Hypertension & Honoring the Body's Voice

The best way I honor my body is to "listen" to it aches and pains as cries for love and attention. Recently I had my blood pressure taken and it was 128/86 !!!  I was shocked and also, paradoxically, not so surprised. I went home and sat with the information in meditation. It came to my attention that my "hypertension" was really inner anger.  I couldn't immediately identify what I was angry about, but, when I found myself yelling at my son and my husband the next morning about having to micromanage their lives I witnessed myself.  Yikes...... there's my anger and it's ugly today. So, over the next few days the anger began to seep up from my blood vessels to my awareness.  Lordy lordy, I'm seeing anger all over the place in small doses, adding up to a hell of a lot.  So, it's boundary setting time again in my world.  Time to pull the word NO back out of my pocket and use it. I've also booked a trip to Mexico for JUST my hu...

Uprooting

Image
Tree from My Yard- July 23, 2010   The last few months have been challenging ones due to one recurring pattern that has asked for my attention.  I have been experiencing a lot of unnecessary fear about what certain people are thinking about me.  This is pretty atypical behavior since I am usually very grounded in self love. I recognized, because of the nature of the work I do being a healer/counselor, that something I had buried deep in my consciousness was rising up to be explored, understood and released.  I literally used the words "I need to uproot this old pattern of fear and move on" when discussing it with my husband. My suffering came from making assumptions.  I found myself taking simple statements and reading into them, and not in a pleasant way.  I was afraid of being judged, rejected or seen as "bad" by the people I loved.  It was causing palpitations and gut churning experiences for me.  My body was shouting at me to chan...
